IP - Hezbollah hails the election of Yahyah Sinwar as the new Hamas leader and said that Hamas's action shows that the Israeli Regime failed in the assassination of Marty Haniyeh.

Iran Press/ West Asia: Hezbollah congratulated Hamas and Yahya Sinwar for succeeding martyr Haniyah and said the enemy found that killing resistance leaders has no outcome".

Israeli Reactions

"Zionist Regime Foreign Minister says Sinwar’s appointment is more of an excuse to assassinate him."

Also, Zionist army spokesperson Daniel Hagari said "only intentions that Israel is making for Sinwar are the same fate as Mohammed Deif" the Hamas commander who was allegedly killed on July 13.

In Hagari's statement, there is no comment on Martyr Haniyah's assassination in Tehran.

Who is the New Hamas Leader

Born in 1962 in Khan Younis, Sinwar is often portrayed as one of the most decisive top Hamas officials.

In 2017, Sinwar became Hamas’s chief in Gaza, succeeding Haniyeh, who was elected as the chair of the group’s political bureau.

As an unspoken Hamas high-profile commander in a rare interview in 2021 with 'Vice News', Sinwar said that while Palestinians do not seek war due to its high cost, they would not “wave the white flag”.

“For long periods, we tried peaceful and popular resistance. We expected that the world, free people, and international organizations would stand by our people and stop occupation from committing crimes and massacring our people. Unfortunately, the world stood by and watched,” he said.
