Amnesty International has sharply criticized the Berlin police for using excessive force against protesters during a pro-Palestinian demonstration in the city.

“We are concerned by videos and reports of excessive use of force by police against protesters at a Palestine solidarity demonstration in Berlin on Saturday,” the rights group stated in a message on X, calling for independent investigations into the officers involved.

More than two dozen protesters were arrested during a brutal police intervention, marking the latest instance of Germany’s aggressive crackdown on pro-Palestinian voices.

Videos shared on social media depicted police officers throwing peaceful protesters to the ground, repeatedly beating those they had pinned down, and punching them in the head and face.

The incident has raised significant concerns about the treatment of demonstrators in Germany, particularly in the context of ongoing tensions surrounding the Israel-Palestine conflict. Amnesty International's condemnation reflects a growing demand for accountability and adherence to human rights standards in law enforcement practices.
