Amir-Abdollahian: Iran urges Inter-Afghan dialogue

Tehran(IP): The Iranian Parliament Speaker’s Special Aide for International Affairs, in meeting UN Secretary-General's Special envoy for Afghanistan, emphasized the Inter- Afghan dialogue as the best solution and criticized the UN's slow actions on facing counties unrest.

Iran Press/Iran news: Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, who met with Jean Arnault, UN Secretary-General's Special Representative for Afghanistan, on Sunday, while explaining the Islamic Republic of Iran's views on developments in Afghanistan and the region, has said that the Islamic Republic of Iran emphasizes inter-Afghan talks with the presence of all parties.

Amir-Abdollahian stressed the importance of ensuring the security of the people inside Afghanistan and preventing the influx of migrants to the borders and stressed the need for unity among all parties.

The Iranian Parliament Speaker’s Special Aide for International Affairs emphasized the role of the United Nations in establishing peace and security in Afghanistan and added: "The Islamic Republic of Iran supports the UN initiatives in resolving the crisis in Afghanistan."

Amir- Abdollahian also criticized the UN for not taking active action in response to recent developments in Afghanistan.

The Director-General of International Affairs of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran pointed out: "The irresponsible actions of the Americans and the behavioral effects of the occupiers have multiplied the problems of the suffering people of Afghanistan."

Amir- Abdollahian stated: "We should not continue to see the irresponsibility of the Americans as well as calm and slow actions of the United Nations."

The UN Secretary-General's Special Representative for Afghanistan, Jean Arnault, emphasized the role of neighbors, especially Iran, in resolving the conflict in Afghanistan which requires the support of neighboring countries.
