Iran's Foreign Minister and the head of the political office of the Hamas movement discussed the latest developments regarding the aggression of the Zionist regime against Gaza in a phone call on Thursday night.

Iran Press/ West Asia: Iran's Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, referring to his recent contacts and meetings with officials of other countries and international organizations, called the immediate cessation of the Zionist regime's crimes against the homeless people of Gaza the key to establishing stability and peace in the entire region.

While celebrating the heroic resistance of the Palestinian nation in the past 4 months, Amir Abdollahian emphasized that only the Palestinian nation, as the main owners of this land, has the right to decide on their fate and future, and no party can impose their will and political plans on them.

Ismail Haniyeh also presented a report on the Palestinian people's resistance in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, while describing political initiatives proposed to stop the Zionist regime's crimes against the Gaza Strip and the exchange of prisoners.

Hamas chief emphasized that the resistance groups, maintaining their unity and cohesion, will pay attention to the proposed initiatives only if they fulfill the highest interests of the Palestinian nation.

Earlier, in a telephone conversation with European Union Foreign Policy Officer Joseph Borrell, the Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs also discussed the latest status of relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the European Union, as well as regional and international developments.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in this conversation, while referring to the developments in Gaza, emphasized the necessity of stopping the Israeli regime's war crimes and genocide against Palestinian people, and considered it a fundamental step in terminating the crisis in the entire region.

Amir-Abdollahian clarified: "Any coalition and aggressive actions similar to what the United States and Britain did in the attack on Yemen will not only not help restore stability to the region, but will also lead to a more complicated situation."

He added: "The Islamic Republic of Iran advises all parties to take immediate, effective, and sustainable action, focusing on the main roots of the crisis, because the root of the crisis lies in the Israeli occupation of Palestine."

Expressing concern over the escalation of tension in the Red Sea, Joseph Borrell emphasized the role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in helping to restore stability to the region.

According to the announcement by the Palestinian Ministry of Health on Thursday, the total number of Palestinians killed in Gaza since the beginning of the aggression on the territory has risen to 27,019 and the number of injured to 66,139. 219
