IP - The new Yemeni hypersonic long-range surface-to-surface ballistic missile that targeted central Israel on Sunday, flew a distance of 2040 km in 11 and a half minutes and all Israeli interceptors systems from the Arrow and Iron Dome failed to stop the missile.

Iran Press/West Asia: The Yemeni missile attack on Sunday triggered sirens all over central Israel including in the Tel Aviv and Ben Gurion Airport and sent all settlers to shelters.

Yemen Armed Forces Spokesman, Yahya Saree, said that the Yemen Army targeted a military position of the Israeli enemy in the Jaffa area with a new hypersonic ballistic missile that had managed to evade Israel’s air defense systems.

Israel's Military started an investigation to find out why all its three layers of defense missile systems failed to stop the Yemeni missile. But it is not the first time that Yemeni forces have shaken the occupied lands.

In July Yemeni drones managed to bypass the aerial defenses of Israel and hit its targets over Tel Aviv.

Yemeni Drones traveled more than 2,600 kilometers to reach Israel, because of a non-direct flight path evading being intercepted.

Yemeni Armed Forces have fired over 220 ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones at Israel over the past 11 months.

Before the July attack on Tel Aviv, in March, the Yemeni Army in another attack with a cruise missile successfully struck the southern city of Eilat.

Israel should expect more strikes in the future “as we approach the first anniversary of the October 7 operation, including responding to its aggression on the city of Hodeidah,” Houthis spokesperson Sarea said.

The deputy head of the Houthi's media office, Nasruddin Amer, said in a post on X on Sunday that the missile had reached Israel after “20 missiles failed to intercept” it, describing it as the “beginning”.

Since the Israeli war in Gaza Yemei Army supported by the Houthi Ansarallah Movement started a campaign in support of Palestinians. Yemenis besides direct attack on Israel, have begun to target Israeli ships and ships bound to Israel in the Red Sea.

There have been countless maritime incidents against dozens of Israeli and Israeli-bound vessels in the region, menacing the Israeli economy.

During the 11 months of the conflict, the Yemeni Army attacked U.S. Navy and Israeli-bound commercial vessels more than 190 times, according to the Pentagon.

On November 19, the Houthis seized the Bahamas-flagged cargo ship Galaxy Leader bound for Israel.

On September 2, the Yemeni Army attacked two oil tankers transiting through the Red Sea to Israel.

On November 8, Yemenis shot down a U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drone which was in Yemeni airspace.

Also Today (16 Sep 2024), the Yemeni Army downed another US MQ-9R Reaper drone in Damar province.

On November 26, the Yemeni Army fired two ballistic missiles at the USS Mason while it was responding to a distress call from the Central Park, a commercial tanker operated by Zodiac Maritime, an international shipping company owned by Israeli billionaire Eyal Ofer.

On December 15, the Yemeni Army struck two Liberian-flagged tankers in the Red Sea. A drone struck the M/V Al Jasra, which was set ablaze.

The Yemeni Armed Forces also fired two ballistic missiles toward the Bab al-Mandab Strait. One hit the M/V Palatium III.

In Total, the Yemeni Army targeted more than 70 Israeli-bound vessels by firing missiles and drones in their campaign. They seized one vessel and sank two since November.
