Airstrikes have struck the Red Sea port city of Hodeidah, Yemen, according to reports from Al Masirah TV, the main news outlet run by the Houthi movement. The attacks reportedly targeted oil refineries and other critical infrastructure in the area.

Iran Press/ West Asia: The airstrikes come amid heightened tensions following a recent drone attack by Yemen's army on a building in Tel Aviv, which resulted in one death and ten injuries. Yemen's army said the attack was executed using a new type of drone that is undetectable by air defense systems. In response, Israeli War Minister Yoav Gallant had vowed to retaliate.

IOF spokesman Daniel Hagari confirmed that Israeli fighter jets targeted military installations in Hodeidah, describing the strikes as a response to the "hundreds of attacks against the State of Israel in recent months."

Reports from Yemen's media indicate that the airstrikes have caused significant damage, hitting fuel tanks and an electricity station, which has led to widespread power outages throughout the governorate of Hodeidah. Al Masirah TV has reported an unspecified number of casualties resulting from the strikes.

While there has been no official statement from Israeli officials regarding the airstrikes, anonymous American officials have suggested that the attacks were indeed conducted by Israel. This escalation in hostilities comes as Israel is already engaged in military operations in Gaza and facing tensions on multiple fronts, including Lebanon.

Elijah Magnier, a military and political analyst, commented on the implications of the recent drone attack on Tel Aviv, stating that it has significantly impacted the Israeli public's perception of safety.

He noted that the ability of the Houthis to launch a drone from 2,000 kilometers away indicates that no place in Israel is secure, urging a reconsideration of the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

As the situation continues to develop, the interconnectedness of regional conflicts becomes increasingly evident, with the potential for further escalation in hostilities between Israel and its adversaries in the region.

The ongoing violence underscores the complex dynamics at play in the Middle East, where multiple actors are engaged in a struggle for power and influence.
