Iran Press/ Iran news: In an interview with Iran Press in Kabul, Enayatullah Babur Farahmand said: "US negotiations with the Taliban began when Afghanistan was embroiled in a presidential campaign, and the two negotiating parties reached an agreement."
He said the absence of the government and the real representatives of the Afghan people had led the Taliban to enter direct talks with the United States, and in other words, the main party to the future of the Afghan peace talks, the people of this country, was ignored.
He said the Taliban had only imposed their demands on the US government, which had become a challenge to the international peace talks process, the region and the world.
Farahmand noted that the content of the Taliban-US agreement was unclear, adding that if the Taliban will not cooperate in the peace talks and has high demands, it is because the group had reached a unilateral agreement with the United States.
He pointed out that the situation posed by the Taliban showed that they were not interested in establishing real peace in Afghanistan.
"The situation posed by the Taliban shows that they are not interested in establishing real peace in Afghanistan and the participation of all people in the country's future political system due to signing an agreement with the United States," he concluded.
