Iranian Karatekas were qualified to take part in Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, as Madrid World League Karate-1 was canceled.

Iran Press/Iran news: Madrid Karate-1 competitions which were scheduled to be held in April were cancelled due to the outbreak of Coronavirus. 

Earlier, the world federation announced that in case of the cancellation of Madrid competitions, Austria’s Salzburg competitions, held recently, are considered as the final selection stage of Olympic Games through the ranking system. 

Therefore, Iran’s Karate managed to gain 4 quotas (2 males, 2 female) to Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
