Tehran (IP) - Out of more than 2,500 participants in the 39th Fajr International Music Festival (FIMF), 822 were women, which broke the record for their participation in the event in Iran.

Iran PressIran news: The closing ceremony of the 39th edition of the Fajr International Music Festival was held on Saturday night in Tehran with the presence of the Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad-Mahdi Esmaili.

Out of 471 requests for performances for the festival, 121 went on stage in 15 provinces across Iran.

Reza Mahdavi, the Secretary of the festival, said: I had many ideas in mind, such as holding separate festivals for Iranian pop and the women's section, paying more attention to the music and street performance, some of which became possible during this edition and some were not, and I hope that we can achieve these goals in coming years."

In the end, Mohammad-Mahdi Esmaili, the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, delivered a speech, emphasizing cultural justice at the 39th Fajr International Music Festival and hailed the audience's passion and enthusiasm. 

The international event kicked off on Monday, February 12, and wrapped up on Saturday, February 17.
