Iran Press/ Asia: Armenia’s defense ministry said three soldiers were killed Friday in firing from Azerbaijan as tensions between the two countries persist.
The ministry initially reported four soldiers were killed and one wounded, but later said one of those believed to have died was resuscitated.
The Ministry of Defense of Armenia announced that the military positions of this country were targeted near the towns of Sotk and Norbak, about eight kilometers from the border of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
At the same time, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan said that the Armenian forces present in the region fired at the positions of this republic and Armenia has moved more forces there.
In 2020, the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia fought a 6-week full-scale war with each other, during which Baku was able to recapture many areas that had been under the control of Armenians supported by Armenia since 1994.
For the past few months, the Republic of Azerbaijan has blocked the Lachin-Khankendi road (the center of Karabakh) claiming that Armenians use this road to transport weapons and smuggle minerals, destroy the environment, and loot forest resources, and Armenians living in Karabakh on the way to Armenia has faced serious problems and limitations.
