IP - A terrorist group working with Al-Qaida and ISIS in Central Burkina Faso in an attack that killed more than 200 people including civilians, military, and security forces near the strategic town of Kaya.

Iran PressAfrica: Terrorist assailants under the flag of 'Jamaat Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin'(JNIM) in a terrorist attack on Saturday in the region of Barsalogho, about 40km north of the strategic town of Kaya in central Burkina Faso killed more than 200 people and injured 140 others.

Victims are Security forces protecting the capital, Ouagadougou.

At the time of the attack, people were digging trenches for security preparation who were targeted by the JNIM terrorist group.

Several soldiers were missing after the attack, and the attackers took weapons and a military ambulance.

It is reported that the Burkina Faso army said the attack was imminent and called on the population to dig trenches.

Burkina Faso army has no control over half of the country.

Burkina Faso military is in power after a coup in 2022, faced with insecurity and several attempted coups.
