IP- The first convoy of Iran's Paralympic athletes arrived at the Narita airport for the upcoming Tokyo Paralympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.

Iran PressAsia: The convoy includes 25 athletes and will participate in 10 sports fields such as sitting volleyball, judo, wheelchair basketball, track and field, archery, and Para-powerlifting in the 16th Para-Olympic games.

The Iranian Paralympic delegation consists of 62 athletes and 20 technical staff and will go to Tokyo through 7 flights and return through 6 flights.

The 16th Summer Paralympic Games are scheduled to be held in Tokyo, Japan between 24 August and 5 September 2021.

Originally scheduled to take place between 25 August and 6 September 2020, both the Olympics and Paralympics were postponed to 2021 in March 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and will be held largely behind closed doors with no public spectators permitted due to a state of emergency in the Tokyo region.
