Three million Arbaeen pilgrims to receive medical services

Secretary-general of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) said that considering the visa that has been waived, Iran will give medical service to three million pilgrims in Iran and Iraq during the time of Arbaeen Pilgrimage.

Iran Press/Iran news: "Due to the visa waiver agreement with Iraq during the Arbaeen Pilgrimage, over three million pilgrims will take part in the Arbaeen march, in which we do our best to provide medical services to them," said the Secretary-general of IRCS Mahmoud Reza Peyravi at a press conference about the Iranian Red Crescent's services to the Arbaeen pilgrims, held on September 22th in Tehran.

"Iran's Ministry of Health and Medical Education will give medical services to the pilgrims inside the country, and IRCS will give them these services in the border and inside the neighboring country of Iraq," he added.

Peyravi highlighted that Iran has made an agreement with Iraq's Ministry of Health to deploy Iranian medical experts in the Iraqi medical centers and hospitals and to provide better medical service for the pilgrims inside that country.

Every year Shia Muslims from across the globe converge on Iraq to commemorate the 40th day after Ashura, known as Arbaeen. Pilgrims travel miles on foot to reach the shrine of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) in Karbala.
