Iran Press/Asia: The primary causes of Lahore's air pollution over the past month have been identified as smoke from burning agricultural waste and emissions from industrial facilities. This crisis has prompted the Punjab government to implement urgent measures to protect public health.
Local media report that residents are facing serious health issues due to the hazardous smoke, including coughing, breathing difficulties, eye irritation, and skin infections. Citizens are increasingly concerned about the deteriorating air quality, with many calling for immediate government action to improve air conditions and public health.
In addition to the local government efforts, environmental activists in Punjab are also running campaigns to raise awareness about the dangers of air pollution. The AQI is a daily measure used to assess air quality and its impact on health, ranging from 0-50 for good conditions to 301-500 for hazardous levels.
