Iran's para archery champion, Fatemeh Hemati, has been named one of the five nominees for the 2024 Best Female Para Archer award. The announcement was made by the World Archery Federation on Tuesday night, with public voting now open.

Iran PressIran news:  Fatemeh Hemati is competing against Judy Greenham from the UK, Tracy Otto from the US, Ozunur Kiyorgdi from Turkey, and Chen Mini from China.

Hemati earned the nomination after winning a silver medal in the archery event at the Paris 2024 Paralympics, securing Iran's first-ever compound para archery medal in its history.

Fans can vote for Hemati until January 10, 2025. To participate in the voting, visit: World Archery Awards.

This year, the World Archery Awards recognize achievements in six categories: development, coaching, refereeing, recurve athlete (female, male), compound athlete (female, male), female para archer, and male para archer.

Previously, Zahra Nemati from Iran won the title of Best Para Archer in 2017 after receiving the majority of votes.
