Iran Press/ Iran News: The decision follows a series of high-level meetings between officials from both nations and recent negotiations during the visit of Gambia's Foreign Minister, Mamadou Tangara, to Tehran.
The announcement was made after Tangara's discussions with Iran's Acting Foreign Minister, Ali Bagheri Kani, on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony of Iran's newly elected President, Masoud Pezeshkian.
Both governments have agreed to enhance their friendly relations based on mutual respect, equality, and shared interests.
The renewed cooperation is expected to span various sectors, including political, economic, investment, trade, and cultural fields, aiming to benefit both countries.
To facilitate the implementation of this decision, the embassies of both nations in Dakar will serve as the primary diplomatic contact points, ensuring necessary coordination and actions.
The resumption of relations marks a significant step towards strengthening bilateral ties and fostering mutual cooperation between Iran and Gambia.
