The Palestinian ambassador to Tehran, Salah Zawawi, has stressed that the Palestinian people do not expect any good deeds from US president Donald Trump.

Iran Press/Middle East: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Tuesday, the  Palestinian ambassador to Tehran, Salah Zawawi, lambasted US president Donald Trump for his "very bad decisions" of recognising the city of al-Quds (Jerusalem) as the capital of the Zionist regime, for shutting down the Palestinian representative office in Washington, and for cutting off all funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).

Zawawi elaborated further by saying: "We never expected anything good from this person [Trump]. Regarding the so-called Deal of the Century, it is clear that it is against Palestinian interests. Palestinians do not expect anything good from this person and from Americans in General. Yesterday I was reading an article about Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law. Kushner claimed the Palestinians should be patient and should wait, because we have a good plan for them as well as for the Israelis. But I believe that he is lying. Trump is simply a puppet in the hands of Netanyahu and he wouldn't do anything which favours the Palestinians."

Addressing Donald Trump, Zawawi said: "I hope you [Trump] will never be re-elected to office in the United States."

The Palestinian ambassador also had a word about international organisations, particularly the United Nations by saying: "From the international organisations we expect more resolutions supporting us [the Palestinians] and our just cause, and an independent Palestinian state." 101/211
