Syrian state media denied reports of an attack on Damascus international airport.

Iran press/Middle East: A source at the Damascus International airport told the SANA news agency on Monday that there had been no attack and that air traffic is operating under normal routine, contrary to earlier reports claiming that a missile strike had been repelled.

"There has been no attack on the airport. It is functioning normally," the agency’s source said.

Meanwhile, Al-Alam TV network said that reports of air attack on Damascus airport are false and the airport condition is quite normal.

Earlier, it has been reported that Syrian air defense forces repelling an air attack in the area of the Damascus international airport.

On September 16, an Israeli missile attack targeted the Damascus International Airport, activating air defenses which shot down some of the incoming projectiles.
