Mazandaran (IP) - Iran's first VP and the speaker of Majlis meet flood-stricken areas in Mazandaran province in Northern Iran.

Iran Press/Iran News: The first vice president of Iran, Es'hagh Jahangir and Speaker of Majlis (Parliament), Ali Larijani, visited flood-stricken areas in Mazandaran province on Sunday, according to Iran Press.

The Iranian officials who were accompanied with Supreme Leader's Representative in the Red Crescent, Hojatoleslam Abdolhossein Moezzi, visited separately with local people and were informed about the conditions of the flood-stricken people and how local health services were coping with the disaster.

Golestan and Mazandaran provinces in the north of the country have been affected by heavy downpours over the past few days. The flooding has forced many people to abandon their homes in Golestan and Mazandaran provinces. The cities of Aqqala and Gomishan in Golestan province have borne the brunt of the floods. Evacuation orders have been issued in areas which are particularly badly affected to prevent further human losses. 212/103
