Iranian President Hassan Rouhani opened phase 3 of the world’s biggest gas condensates refinery, Setareh Khalije Fars, on Monday.

Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking at the opening ceremony, Hassan Rouhani said “It is hard for enemies to see that during what they say is the toughest sanctions against Iran, we have opened three major national projects in Hormozgan Province in only 24 hours.”

Phase 1 of the project was opened in April 2017 and the second phase inaugurated on June 2018, Iran Press reported.

Khalije Fars Gas Condensates Refinery is the country’s first refinery designed for gas condensates based on gas condensates feed with a production capacity of 360,000 barrels per day in three phases of 120,000 barrels with the aim of producing petrol, diesel, liquid gas and jet fuel.

Daily production of 36 million litres of Euro 5 petrol, 14 million litres of light and heavy diesel, more than 3 million litres of jet fuel, more than 4 million litres of liquid gas, 130 tons of solid sulphur and 425 tons of hydrogen are among the final products of the refinery. 101
