Iran Press/Iran news: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press News Agency on Saturday, Mohammad Reza Modoudi said: "Iran is a country with many neighbors, and thus we have the ability to increase our trade and exports with neighboring countries."
Modoudi added: "We have several problems to solve. One of the problems is that our export basket is still not diversified, and about 400 products and commodities make up the bulk of our exports abroad, and these are worth over $ 50 million."
He added: "One of the fundamental plans of Iran's TPO is to invest in diversification of our exports. We must export products which are attractive for export, and in high demand. Also TPO tries to encourage many different companies to export their products, diversifying our exporting base. We have about 400 to 500 companies which export over $ 50 million worth of goods. Thus one thing we are trying to do is to internationalize our companies, encouraging them to be more active internationally, and making them more competitive and export-oriented." 105/ 211/210
