Unknown gunmen martyr two police officers in SW Iran

Two police officers were martyred on Saturday in a shooting incident, when unidentified gunmen sprayed their car with bullets, in Bandar-e Emam Khomeini, in Khuzestan Province in south western Iran.

Iran Press/ Iran news: The spraying of a police car with bullets in Bandar-e Emam Khomeini, Khuzestan Province has claimed the lives of two police officers, the deputy police commander of Khuzestan province has confirmed.

Speaking to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Saturday, Colonel Ali Qasempour said that the Conscript Mohammad Reza Rafeie and Lieutenant Allah Nazar Safari succumbed to their injuries after being transferred to a local hospital.

Colonel Qasempour added that an investigation is underway to find the perpetrators of this attack.

Details of the accident will be released by police soon, he noted.

Also Bandar-e Mahshahr governor Mohsen Beiranvand, confirmed the shooting and said: "It is still unclear that it was a terrorist attack or not and investigation about it is underway. 101/ 211 /201
