The Sixth International Critical Care Congress kicked off at Razi International Conference Hall in Tehran on Wednesday morning. 

Iran Press/ Iran news: Organized by the Iranian Society of Anesthesiology and Critical Care, the congress will cover issues concerning ICU and critical care in anesthesiology.

In an exclusive interview with Iran Press News Agency on Wednesday, Ali Amir Savadkouhi, head of Iran's Critical Care Association, said Iran's achievements in the medical sector is considerable, with Iran being the second most advanced country in the region, after Turkey, in the field of 'Critical Care'.

Speaking on the sidelines of the 6th international Critical Care congress in Tehran on Wednesday, Dr. Savadkouhi said Critical Care is a relatively new field in the medical sciences with a history of just 45 to 50 years, and in Iran Critical Care is just 10 to 15 years old.

He also said Iranian scientists have a very close relationship with Turkey which is number one in 'Critical Care' in this region.

Savadkouhi also said that through improving our relations in this field we could improve our positions in the region. 101
