A dutch professor attending a medical conference in Tehran has said Iran and Europe can share ideas and learn from each other.

Iran Press/Iran: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Tuesday, Professor Wim de Kort from Sanquin blood supply in Amsterdam has praised the “4th Iran International Congress of Transfusion Medicine & XIV Annual Congress of Asian Association of Transfusion Medicine (AATM) being held in Iran.

"Thank you very much. First of all, I thank the organization for inviting  me. It's great honor for me.  My work is focused on blood donor management.I am not focusing on recipient blood but the givers, the one that donates blood and the important things are about I would like to know what makes a person to become a donor and what is important for a donor to stay being a donor" he said.

Dr. Wim de Kort  has added that "Also like to know a little bit about what donating blood does to a donor. We would like to share our experience because I think we are doing quite a lot of research together with a lot of people in Europe and we would really love to share what we know with you and I am certain that you know a lot that you can share with us."

 He added: "The meeting right now , I think a very important meeting. It is a combination of Iran blood transfusion  organisation  and the Asian association of  transfusion association medicine and they real put together over the past two decades enormous  amount of effort to have this organised event. I think It is really well organised and I feel really comfortable and safe here. It is a lovely country".
