Speaking on Wednesday , Larijani said: "If all of us pursue a single goal and ministries turn into knowledge-based companies, Iranian capacities will emerge and conditions in the country will change."

The speaker of the Iranian parliament (Majlis ), Ali Larijani , said on Wednesday that today what can protect Iran against bad behaviors and economic pressures is reliance on our own capabilities and resources.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of Ayatollah Boroujerdi Boulevard in Qom late on Wednesday, Larijani added:  "Under the current conditions where the strategy is to boost public investments, it is necessary for officials to cut bureaucracy and make it easier to invest.

He also called for providing incentives to exporters, as exports will grow under favourable conditions.

Larijani said the Majlis welcomes changes in the government, for example a reshuffle in the Cabinet, saying that the changes should take place soon.Despite talks with the US and conclusion of a deal between Iran and 5+1 Group, Washington reneged on the deal and abandoned it, a move condemned by all countries except one or two, he said.

As to talks with the EU, Larijani said that one cannot count on them and fate of the country should not be tied to their promises.

Recently, leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei stated in Eid-al Fitr Prayer sermon that "Today, the enemy’s conspiracy constitutes putting economic pressures on the Iranian people, to make the people tired and hopeless, be aware of this; We should all work hard against their plots. Members of the Islamic government and authorities must also work hard, the collection of governing entities established by the officials of the three branches".

US President Donald Trump has left a landmark nuclear deal with Iran and called for fresh negotiations to include the Islamic Republic's missile capabilities and its role in the Middle East, which Tehran has rejected.

"Under the circumstances, all state officials including the government, Majlis, the elite and political currents and all Iranian people are required to unite against the big plot which has started and help pass this stage with dignity and fulfillment."

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo also threatened Iran with the “strongest sanctions in history” if it did not comply with a list of steep demands, including ending uranium enrichment.
