The speaker of the parliament (Majlis) , Ali Larijani, reacting to US president, Donald Trump's Sunday night tweet , has said: "Some of Trump's nonsensical tweets are not worth responding to. They are trash. These tweets are from someone who is corrupt to the core -- his ill-repute is internationally acknowledged."

Speaking in the open session of the Iranian parliament, Majlis, on Tuesday morning, Larijani was urged by an MP representing the people of Shahin Shahr in Isfahan province, to make his stance clear, in relation to a tweet by US president, Donald Trump, in which Trump threatened Iran.

In a direct, all-caps threat on Twitter Trump said: "To Iranian President Rouhani: NEVER, EVER THREATEN THE UNITED STATES AGAIN OR YOU WILL SUFFER CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED BEFORE,"

Larijani replied by saying:  "We mustn't reply to every trash comment or tweet by Donald Trump. His tweet was not worthy of a reply.  He used undiplomatic language.  His comment showed his charlatan and crooked nature."

The speaker of Iran's parliament went on to say:  "Sadly, too often we see (Trump engage in ) wild threats and undiplomatic language. he seems to be pursuing a  thoughtless diplomacy on the international stage".

The Iranian president on Sunday, addressing a meeting attended by Iranian representatives in foreign countries, said that the US last resort is aimed at exhausting the Iranian people.

'The Iranian people are the master and they will never bow to anyone,' President Rouhani said.

He said that the Americans should come to realize that establishing peace with Iran is the mother of all peace and waging war with the country is mother of all wars.
