The chairman of Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Alaeddin Boroujerdi has stressed that Russia and China can make up for Iran's reduced economic ties with Europe.

Speaking on Wednesday, Alaeddin Boroujerdi said:  "In a situation where European countries do not have much power to resist the United States' pressures, our strategic allies can be very good economic partners for us in various fields of trade, oil, and so on under US sanctions.”

Meanwhile, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei urges European signatories to the nuclear deal with Iran, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), to provide Tehran with necessary guarantees about the continued implementation of the deal.

Saying that China has a huge market, Boroujerdi added: "The more European companies reduce their business activities in Iran, the more Russian and Chinese companies expand their relations with us."

He further said that Iran has reached important agreements to strengthen economic and trade relations with Russia over the past one to two years.

Recently, Presidents of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Austria had a joint press conference and stressed the importance of deepening relations.

JCPOA is a very important agreement for Iran, EU and the world, he said, adding: "What United States did was against the law, UNSC resolutions and multilateral obligations, and without a doubt, this will be to the US and others' detriment".

"The decision that the US has taken is not beneficial for anybody and is one of those weird decisions that a government makes, which is against its own and others' national interests," continued Rouhani.

Also, the head of the Iran-Ukraine parliamentary friendship group, and member of the Iranian parliament , Salman Khodadadi has emphasised that Europe must prove its commitment to the nuclear deal (JCPOA ) by honouring its obligations under the deal.

According to an Iran Press report, Khodadadi,  heading a group of Iranian parliamentarians is currently visiting Kiev, Ukraine's capital, where he has already met with Sergei Kaplin, the head of the social committee of the Ukrainian parliament , and "Tarasouk", the deputy head of the foreign relations committee of the Ukrainian parliament.

US President Donald Trump announced on May 8 that Washington was walking away from the nuclear agreement and that he planned to reinstate US nuclear sanctions on Iran and impose "the highest level" of economic bans on the Islamic Republic.

Under the JCPOA, Iran undertook to put limits on its nuclear program in exchange for the removal of nuclear-related sanctions imposed against Tehran.
