An international caricature competition on the theme of Daesh, the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and Syria(ISIS), wrapped up in Tehran.

During the closing ceremony,on Saturday,the competition has found its winners.

Hamid Naser and Saeid Shams are two Iranian cartoonists who won the final award.

Cultural and Social Deputy of IRGC, General Mohammad Reza Naqdi, and  one member of Expediency Discernment Council of Islamic Republic of Iran ,Hossein Saffar Harandi,were the  two high-ranking officials who attended the closing ceremony to hand over the awards.

Saeid Shams one of the winners of the competition said he had sent two cartoons and caricatures for the competition, one on the subject of "Saudi Crown Prince vs. Donald Trump" and another on the theme of "The end of Daesh(ISIS)".

"Caricature is an international language that is very effective in conveying your message. When you witness an oppression in any part of the world, it is natural to react in a manner to disclose the reality for the people of the world", said Saeid Shams.

In an exclusive interview with Iran Press News Agency, Cultural and Social Deputy of IRGC, General Mohammad Reza Naqdi described the  art of  caricature as common language among nations.

" Broad participation of cartoonists and caricaturists from all over the world in this competition shows that the art is an international language among nations. One thing that was visible in today's competition is the awakening of the nations of the world. The insights of the nations are reflected in the artworks of their artists",said General Mohammad Reza Naqdi.

A member of the  Expediency Discernment Council of Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Saffar Harandi ,said the important function of the art is to express the realities. Many realities were expressed by poems.

He also said the corruption and oppression of the global arrogance is disclosed by caricatures and cartoons.
