Iran PressEurope: In a statement at the end of a two-day Seminar on Nuclear Cooperation in Belgium on Tuesday, Iran and EU called for continued collaboration in the field of nuclear energy.

According to Iran Press, the statement said that the third high-level seminar on Iran-EU nuclear cooperation was held in Brussels.

Meanwhile, Iran’s nuclear chief said on Tuesday he was warning the European Union’s top diplomat that Iranian patience was running out on the bloc’s pledges to keep up oil trade despite US sanctions.

"The Islamic Republic could resume enriching uranium to 20 percent purity if it fails to see the economic benefit of the 2015 deal that curbed its nuclear program," head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi noted.

Under the 2015 nuclear agreement, Iran stopped producing 20 percent enriched uranium and gave up the majority of its stockpile.

“If we cannot sell our oil and we don’t enjoy financial transactions, then I don’t think keeping the deal will benefit us anymore,” Salehi told Reuters ahead of a meeting with EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini in Brussels.

Following the meeting, Mogherini said she and Salehi remained committed to safeguarding the nuclear accord.

This meeting was part of the regular exchanges between the EU and Iran.

The EU was represented by the EEAS Secretary General Helga Maria Schmid and the Iranian delegation was headed by the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi.

The third EU-Iran High Level Seminar on International Nuclear Cooperation also took place in Brussels on 26 and 27 November, which focuses on aspects of civil nuclear cooperation in line with Annex III of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), whose implementation the EU continues to fully support.

Speaking during a seminar on peaceful nuclear cooperation between Iran and the European Union in Brussels on Monday, Abbas Araghchi said, JCPOA is an important achievement and Iran fully abides to its obligations under this agreement but our economic interests have not been safeguarded in this deal.
