Yemeni drones attack Jizan airport in Saudi Arabia

The Yemeni air force and popular committees used a Ghasef K2 pilot-less aircraft to attack hangers at Jizan airport housing Saudi fighter jets.

Iran Press/Middle East: Jizan Airport is located in southwestern Saudi Arabia, close to the border with Yemen.

The drone attack came after extensive reconnaissance flights by the Yemeni Air Force, and the Yemeni drone hit its target with high accuracy, inflicting considerable damage on Saudi warplanes inside the hanger, Iran Press reported.

A spokesman for Yemen's Ansarullah movement, Aziz Rashed, confirmed the drone strike against Jizan Airport in Saudi Arabia and said the Saudi authorities have not commented on this attack so far.

According to the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF), since the beginning of the intervention led by Saudi Arabia and its' allies in Yemen in 2015, about 2,400 children have been killed and 3,600 maimed in Yemen.

The United States, and major European countries, including Britain and France, provide Saudi Arabia with modern weaponry and hardware, as well as intelligence and logistical support.

Saudi Arabia also has been using the precision-guided weapons provided by Washington to strike civilian targets in Yemen.
