New phase of South Pars will be completed soon

Tehran (IP)- Iranian Oil Minister said all maritime sections of 27 phases of South Pars would be completed by the end of this current Iranian year (starting on March 21).

Iran Press/Iran News: Bijan Namdar Zangeneh made the remarks at the fifth Iranian Petroleum and Energy Club Congress and Exhibition in Tehran on Tuesday, saying that with the completion of all maritime parts of South Pars, implementation of the Phase 11 development plan would also begin this year. 

Iranian Oil Minister noted due to sanctions, French Total and the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) withdrew from the Phase 11 development plan in a friendly atmosphere, saying: "The development plan of this phase is totally relied on Iranian internal power and it will start soon."

"The Farzad gas field contract, a joint gas field with Saudi Arabia, will be signed in the coming months," Iran's official stressed. 

Zanganeh further highlighted the latest achievements of the Iranian oil industry, saying: "The Ministry of Oil has been able to do great work in the petrochemical, oil and gas sector during these difficult years and this year Iran became the exporter of gasoline for the first time."

The fifth Iranian Petroleum and Energy Club Congress and Exhibition is underway at Tehran's IRIB International Conference Center from  October 8-10.
