ports of Hormozgan province sees increase of export and transit of goods

Bandar-e-Lengeh (IP) – Despite America's unilateral sanctions against Iran, southern Iranian ports in western Hormozgan province are reporting a substantial increase in exports and transit of goods.

Iran Press/ Iran news: The manager of Bandar-e-Lengeh port, Ghasem Askari Nasab said on Monday: "In the past five months, 328,284 tons of non-oil goods have been exported from western ports of Hormozgan province to neighbouring countries in the Persian Gulf.

Askari Nasab added: "Volume of transit of non-oil goods in the past five months has increased to 136161 tons which shows a substantial 14 percent growth."

The unique geographical position of the maritime fleet based in Bandar-e-Lengeh in Hormozgan province has turned this Iranian port into the best logistics terminal to support the islands of the Persian Gulf.

Sirri, Lavan, Kish, Hendurabi, Great and Lesser Tunbs, and Abu Musa Islands are the Iranian Islands of the Persian Gulf and an integral part of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
