Foreign Ministry Spokesman Abbas Mousavi

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Abbas Mousavi called US out on its bogus call for diplomacy and talks, said on Sunday that Washington's brand of diplomacy for Iran has only meant sanctions and economic terrorism.

Iran Press/Iran News: Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi has reacted to the recent fuss made by US officials, specifically by the US National Security Council's spokesperson who called on Iran to meet diplomacy with diplomacy, reported Iran Press citing Mehr News Agency.

"Iran responds to diplomacy with diplomacy and to pressure with resistance," Mousavi said in a Saturday statement. However, he added, it appears that in the lexicon of American authorities, diplomacy means sanctions and economic terrorism. "Thus far we have not seen anything other than illegal sanctions and economic war and terrorism from the US government to respond to," he noted.

Earlier on June 27,Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister stressed that the United States has started an economic war against Iran, criticising Washington for its unilateral approach.

Seyyed Abbas Araghchi has said the US has started a fully-fledged economic war against Iran and it is using the ‘Dollar’ as a weapon of war against other countries.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi made the remark at an international seminar on unilateral sanctions in Vienna, Austria.

Araghchi urged the international community to stand firm against America's unilateralism.  213/211/203
