Secretary of the Iranian brain mapping Bio-Bank said the project is the first of the kind in the country and also the region, which facilitates research in neuroscience field.

Iran Press/Iran news: "Iranian Brain Mapping Bio Bank is the first of this kind in the country and in the region and it is interdisciplinary collection of the information from brain mapping of different modalities," Dr. Mansoor Fatehi, secretary of the Iranian brain mapping Bio-Bank said in an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Wednesday.

Dr. Fatehi continued: "Basic purpose of Bio- Bank project is to facilitate research in this field of neuroscience for those researchers who do not access to imaging facilities from different parts of the country. They can easily apply to get the information to do the research."

Secretary of the Iranian Brain Mapping Bio-Bank noted: "Bio-Bank is actually a foundation for facilitation of neuroscience research in the country."

"I can say about Bio-Bank that our country is pioneer in this field. Our Bio-Bank is the first of its kind in the region. Iran is high achieving country in this field." Dr. Fatehi added.

Iran Brain Mapping Bio-Bank is one of the great scientific projects in neuroscience in Iran which aims to have brain imaging from 500.000 people to prepare a good data bank and information source for researchers. 101/211/209
