Lorestan (IP)- IRGC commander Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari arrived in Lorestan to visit the flood-stricken province.

Iran Press/Iran news: The top commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari told journalists upon his arrival in flood-hit Khorramabad (provincial capital) about his mission to the province. Major General Jafari said he headed for Khorramabad after a meeting with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution,  Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

Major General Jafari added that during the meeting, the Leader emphasized that the armed forces should reach out to the flood-hit victims throughout the country, Iran Press reported.

The top commander of the IRGC went on to stress that from now on the province of Lorestan will be focused more than ever before. Stressing the fact that some flood damage is due to shoddy construction, deficiencies and slackness, and that these will be compensated for soon, Jafari described patience and tolerance as important principles that should be observed by the people whose lives have been affected by the flooding.

The top IRGC commander further stressed that when floods or other forms of natural disasters hit, key preventive steps should be taken so that loss and damage should be kept to a minimum.

Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari finally expressed hope that existing problems would be solved in 'Pol-e-Dokhtar', by people's help, and as the Leader has emphasized the government and the armed forces will do their utmost to provide aid and services to affected people with more urgency than before.

The city of 'Pol-e-Dokhtar' in Lorestan province experienced some of the heaviest rains and flooding to hit the country. All connecting roads to the area have been cut off and aid packages have been sent to        Pol-e-Dokhtar by helicopters.

Furthermore, Iran's Armed Forces including the Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) have used all their equipment to help the people in Pol-e-Dokhtar whose lives have been affected by the floods.   101/203/211
