Mashhad( IP) - Managing director of the 'Charity Institute for the Protection of Children with Congenital Anomalies' said Iran is among 6 countries in the world which can cure these children.

Iran PressIran News: Managing director of 'Charity Institute for the Protection of Children with Congenital Anomalies' (MOHKAM), Dr Salah al-Din Delshad addressing a scientific conference on Congenital Abnormalities' in Northeastern city of Mashhad said: 2,700 types of congenital anomalies have been identified in the world and six percent of Iranian infants have been born with different kind of anomalies, Iran Press report.

Congenital anomalies are also known as birth defects, congenital disorders or congenital malformations.

Congenital anomalies can be defined as structural or functional anomalies like metabolic disorders that occur during intrauterine life and can be identified prenatally, at birth or later in life. 105/205/213
