Iranian parliament speaker said the main objective of his visit to China is the development of bilateral relations between Tehran and Beijing.

Iran Press/Iran news: Ali Larijani said that the common interests of Iran and China have strengthened bilateral cooperation.

Larijani, who visits Beijing at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Lee Zhang Shu, on arrival at Beijing airport on Tuesday (local time) told journalists, "In addition to the parliamentary talks, the two sides will discuss ways of strengthening political, cultural, scientific and economic ties.

According to an Iran Press report, Larijani was welcomed by Iranian ambassador to Beijing, Mohammad Keshavarzadeh, and Lee Shoe Yong, head of the Education, Science, Culture and Public Health Commission of the People's Congress of China, who heads the Chinese Parliamentary Friendship Group.

Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh, Minister of Finance Farhad Dezhpasand, and Director General of the Central Bank of Iran Abdolnasser Hemmati, accompany Larijani in the visit.

The Iranian delegation is scheduled to meet Chinese President Xie Jin Ping, Speaker of the People's Congress Li Zhan Shu, and members of the parliamentary friendship group of China and Iran.

Larijani is also scheduled to visit China's Science and Technology Park in Beijing.   103/211/213
