Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Polish chargé d'affaires on Saturday, conveying to him Iran's strong protest at the proposed holding of an anti-Iran conference in Poland in February.

Iran Press/ Iran news: Iran's ministry of foreign affairs summoned Poland's chargé d'affaires on Saturday, conveying to him Iran's official protest at the holding of a so-called 'Security and peace summit in the Middle East' in the Polish capital of Warsaw.

The anti-Iran summit is hosted jointly by Poland and United States, and is supposed to be held on 13 and 14 February 2019 in the polish capital of Warsaw.

Iran's foreign ministry director for the Eastern Europe on Saturday officially voiced Islamic Republic of Iran's objection toward Poland's collaboration with US to host the anti-Iran event. He went on to say that Iran expects Poland not to follow United States, and to refuse to host the conference.

For his part the Polish diplomat, Wojciech Unolt, emphasized that the event will be not at all directed against the Islamic Republic of Iran. He also explained further that Poland's political stance is completely different from US officials' recent words and interpretations.

Iran's foreign ministry official said Wojciech Unolt's assurances were insufficient and stressed on urgent compensatory measures by Polish officials. He also warned that otherwise Iran will be forced to take retaliatory action.

Poland's chargé d'affaires while referring to the historical ties between the two countries, said that he will carry Iran's message to Polish officials.

On January 12, The chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh said, the United States is trying to prove its dominance over Europe by organizing an anti-Iran conference in Poland and this is certainly a defeat for European countries.

Furthermore, on January 11, The Iranian Foreign minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif in a memo posted on Twitter on Friday said: "Reminder to host/participants of anti-Iran conference: those who attended last US anti-Iran show are either dead, disgraced or marginalized. And Iran is stronger than ever."
