An international adviser to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, reiterated Iran’s unwavering policy to side with the Palestinian nation against Israel, saying the struggle against the Zionist regime is the top issue for the Muslim world.

Iran Press/Iran news: Addressing a gathering of scholars and thinkers of the Islamic Awakening Supreme Council in Tehran on Monday, Ali Akbar Velayati pointed to the Palestinian issue and said the liberation of al-Quds  and fighting the “racist Zionist regime” is the main and number one issue of the Islamic world.  

“All sinister plots hatched by the global arrogance (the US), international Zionism and reactionary Arab states aim to marginalize the Palestinian cause to make up for their defeats and failures,” he said, Iran press reported.

The Iranian official further highlighted the Muslim world’s responsibilities and said that in the current situation, the duty of the Muslims is to fight Takfirism (extremism) to clarify the bright and peaceful nature of Islam so that the religion becomes a safe haven for freedom and justice-seekers and all Muslims fighting against the tyranny and unilateralism of the US and Israel in the international community.

 The event is attended by Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem, Lebanese former Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour, al-Nujaba Leader Sheikh Akram al-Kaabi, Afghan Grand Ayatollah Muhammad Asif Mohseni, Iraqi former Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, the second deputy to the Chief Executive of Afghanistan Muhammad Mohaqiq and some of the figures and elites of the world and Iran,Iran press reported.

Meanwhile,the 32nd International Islamic Unity Conference opened in the Iranian capital of Tehran on Saturday morning with high-ranking officials from Muslim countries as well as Shiite and Sunni scholars in attendance.

Over 520 scholars, religious thinkers, ministers of Islamic countries, university professors and other scientific and cultural figures from 100 countries are taking part at the international event.

During the first day of the conference, notable figures, including Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, the Grand Mufti of Syria Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun, and Tunisia's former religious affairs minister, Abdeljalil Ben Salem, delivered speeches.

The World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (WFPIST) is organizer of the 32nd International Islamic Unity Conference.105
