Russian Energy Minister said Moscow will start trade with Tehran in the national currency to sustain the two countries' cooperation.

Iran Press /Europe: Alexander Novak added that Russia would continue to cooperate with Iran despite the sanctions imposed by the US.

'We don't recognize unilateral sanctions by the United States against Iran without approval of the UN Security Council, “he asserted, IRNA reported.

Noting that Russia will look for mechanisms for cooperation with Iran, the Russian Energy Minister said, 'One of these mechanisms is the pay for goods using national currencies.'

While commenting on dealings in the national currency between Iran and Russia, Novak, who is also head of the joint commission for economic and commercial cooperation between Iran and Russia, said, 'This measure provides a good opportunity for boosting cooperation with Iran.'

'The US sanctions against Iran is not new for anyone,' he said, adding, 'By 2015 (after which sanctions were cancelled) we would cooperate with Iran and develop economic and commercial cooperation with the country.' 105
