The top commander of the Iranian Navy who has travelled to China said there are very good opportunities for military cooperation between the two countries' Navies.

Iran Press/Asia: Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi added that expanding engagement with the Chinese navy in various ways, including the development of military cooperation at sea, the development of joint training programmes and the development of technical activities with the Navy, is one of the goals of the trip.

He expressed hope to make good use of this visit and meetings with senior Chinese military officials and talks with  Chinese Navy commanders as well as the commander of the navy forces of the friendly countries on this trip, IRNA reported.

The Navy Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Army went on to say that the region, especially the west of Atlantic and the north of Indian Ocean, did not need the presence of foreign military and naval forces to ensure security, and countries of the region themselves were perfectly capable of ensuring security of the region. 

Rear Admiral Khanzadi stressed that he will meet with some Chinese military officials, including the naval commander of the country.

The navy commander concluded the countries of the region have the ability to ensure security in the region without the presence of foreign and Western forces, especially the various coalition that has been formed.

Khanzadi has been invited by the Chinese Navy commander to attend a senior military and  navy commanders gathering, and also to participate in the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Chinese naval force.   105/211/205
