Iran Press/Africa: In a letter to the Nigerian government, one hundred and eighty-four Iranian and non-Iranian physicians including Pediatricians, Neurosurgeons, Radiologists, Dentists, Maxillofacial Specialists, Thoracic Internists, General practitioners, General Surgeons, Ophtalmologists, Gastroenterologists, Vascular Surgeons, Internists, Urologists, Thoracic Surgeons, and Liver transplant surgeons have warned about the spread of lead poisoning in the blood and body tissues of Sheikh Zakzaky, citing vital signs and clinical examinations of him.

According to Fars news agency, the doctors, from India, Lebanon, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Syria and Iran said: "We physicians of different nationalities cannot be indifferent to the health of any human being due to our medical commitment. This is a hint of humanity and compassion, and undoubtedly ignoring it will lead to irreparable damage."

"Therefore, we urge the Nigerian Government and Parliament to promptly transfer Sheikh Zakzaky to a well-equipped medical centre in the designated country as soon as possible so that he can be treated without delay and prevent the bitter accidents caused by negligence," the letter added.
