Tehran (IP)- The Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine met with Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs at the same time as the second round of talks between Iran and Ukraine on the crash of a Ukrainian plane in Tehran was held.

Iran PressIran news: Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Monday met with Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Yevgheniy Yenin in Tehran, expressing his regret over the Ukrainian plane crash.

Assessing the first round of talks between the two countries on this plane crash, Zarif expressed hope that with the cooperation and coordination of the two sides in these talks, the desired results will be achieved as soon as possible.

During the meeting, the negotiation process related to the Ukrainian plane crash was discussed.

The first meeting of the second round of talks on the Ukrainian plane crash between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Ukraine was hosted by Tehran this morning, and chaired by Mohsen Baharvand, Deputy Minister of Legal and International Affairs of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Expert talks between Ukraine and Iran on the crash of a Ukrainian plane will continue for two days.

The first round of talks was held on July 30-31, 2020, under the supervision of deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Mohsen Baharvand, in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Baharvand heading the Iranian delegation in the second round too.

According to Baharvand, three technical meetings will be held in this round of talks.

On January 8, a Boeing 737 belonging to Ukrainian Airlines en route from Tehran to Kiev crashed near Tehran following a human error, killing all 176 people on board.

Most of the passengers on the plane were Iranian nationals and 32 passengers on the flight also had passports from five countries: Canada, Afghanistan, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and Sweden.
