Tehran (IP) - Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman has said that until the US believes that its policies towards Iran have failed, the situation will not change.

Iran PressIran news: In response to Iran Press question on the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's remarks regarding the US sanctions on countries that have arms trades with Iran, Saeed Khatibzadeh in his weekly conference said: "Pompeo's remarks show that the US itself cannot believe its failure in imposing sanctions against Iran."

Pointing to the lifting of the arms embargo against Iran, Khatibzadeh said that the US considered this sanction as its biggest achievement; however, none of Iran’s defense policies, missile plans, and aims in the region has changed.

"Although arms embargo against Iran was lifted, the US still continues to put pressure on the country in other fields, including food and medicine," he highlighted.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman went on to say: "Since Iran has more potential in supporting the market rather than in sales, this is what the US is afraid of."

Regarding the US President Donald Trump’s claim about negotiations with Iran, Khatibzadeh noted that nothing changes until the US believes that its policies towards Iran have failed."

"We wait till the US confesses its failure, then proper response based on the situation will be given," he concluded.
