Tehran (IP) - Deputy head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) for international, legal and parliamentary affairs and spokesman of the organization said that the lifting of the UN arms embargo against Iran is an excellent achievement for the diplomacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Iran Press/Iran news: Referring to the lifting of the Iran arms embargo at 3:30 a.m. local time on Sunday, October 18, Behrouz Kamalvandi called it a turning point for Iran, saying: "Finally, the rigorous resistance of the Iranian nation, five years after the JCPOA implementation, yields results and with the negative vote and opinion of the world to the unilateralism and bullying of Trump administration, the legitimacy, and diplomacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran gained a remarkable achievement.”

Especially with the publication of 17 positive reports of the International Atomic Energy Agency and the failure to prove any of the false nuclear allegations over the past 20 years, he added that the world community knows that the Islamic Republic of Iran has never sought non-peaceful use of atomic energy.

The AEOI spokesman said: “The so-called US maximum pressure, which is an inhuman and vicious act, especially towards children, women and the sick, will have no result other than further isolation for the US and breaking its evil hegemony."

Despite opposition from the United States, a long-standing conventional arms embargo imposed on Iran has expired in line with the terms of a landmark nuclear deal between Iran and world powers.
