Tehran (IP) - Daily intake of vitamin D reduces infections and can easily protect people against the flu and cold.

Iran PressIran news: All men and women need vitamin D (also referred to as calciferol), which is produced in the body when there is enough sunlight.

Daily intake of vitamin D tablets reduces infections and can easily protect people against the flu and cold.

Vitamin D has other roles in the body, including reduction of inflammation as well as modulation of such processes as cell growth, neuromuscular and immune function, and glucose metabolism.

Few foods naturally contain vitamin D like fish (such as trout, salmon, tuna, and mackerel) and fish liver oils are among the best sources, Beef liver, cheese, and egg yolks.

It is better for people to eat foods that contain more vitamin D on cold days of the year.
