Iranian Foreign Minister's Senior Assistant for Special Political Affairs, Ali Asghar Khaji, and the Foreign Minister of the Yemeni National Salvation Government discussed the latest developments in the country.

Iran PressMiddle East: Iranian Foreign Minister's Senior Assistant for Special Political Affairs, in a video conference with Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs Hisham Sharaf Abdullah, referring to Iran's principled position on resolving the Yemeni political crisis stressed: The Islamic Republic of Iran is using all its power and capacity to defend the oppressed people of Yemen in the international arena through numerous regional and international consultations.

The Foreign Minister of the Yemeni National Salvation Government also thanked the political support and humanitarian aid of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the oppressed people of Yemen.

"Hisham Sharaf Abdullah also offered the reports on the latest actions of the National Salvation Government in the international arena and correspondence with the United Nations to record the crimes of the Saudi coalition in Yemen, including the continued aggression{on Yemen}  and seizure of ships carrying fuel and food during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, with the support of the United States and several other countries, have launched a military offensive against Yemen since March 26, 2015, at the pretext of returning ousted President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi to power, and have laid siege to the country by land, sea, and air.

The waging of war by Saudi Arabia and its allies in Yemen has so far killed more than 16,000 Yemenis, injured tens of thousands, and displaced millions of them.
