Tehran (IP) - Iran's President Hassan Rouhani stressed that his country decisively supports Iraq's peace, security, and stability.

Iran PressIran news: Receiving the credentials of the new Iraqi envoy Nasir Abdul Muhsin Abdullah on Tuesday, Hassan Rouhani stressed the unique role of the Iraqi Grand Shia Marja Ayatollah Sistani in the country's stability and security, noting that the Iranian nation and government respect the grand Marja.

Pointing out that Iran, with all power and equipment, stood by Iraq in the fight against ISIS terrorist group, Rouhani noted that the martyrdom of the top Iranian commander Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, and the Second-in-Command of the Iraqi Mobilization Units Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis indicates that Iran and Iraq's nations are confronting terrorism.

The Iraqi envoy, for his part, stressed the expansion of ties between the two countries and said Iraq's nation and government do not forget Iran's help and efforts in the fight against the ISIS terrorist group.
