Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said that the Palestinian issue remains the greatest test of the United Nations.

Iran Press/Middle East: In a speech broadcast by the official Palestine TV on Sunday, to mark the 75th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, Abbas said, "The Palestinian people held hope for the United Nations, the historical witness to their misfortune, to be the supporter of their legitimate struggle, for their freedom and independence, and we are still waiting for the United Nations to fulfill its full responsibility, in achieving a peaceful settlement of the Palestine issue."

He added, “the Palestinian issue remains the greatest test for this international system and its credibility, and what it has recognized as an inherent right of all rights. We do not ask for more and do not accept less.”

On Friday, Abbas asked the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, to call for an international peace conference in early 2021 "with the aim of engaging in a real peace process based on international law and international legitimacy."

The UAE and Bahraini foreign ministers signed an agreement on September 15 to normalize relations with Israel in the presence of US President Donald Trump at the White House.

The UAE and Bahrain's attempt to normalize relations with the Zionist Regime has been widely criticized in the Islamic world.
