The Afghan Acting Foreign Minister stressed the importance of strengthening and expanding economic and trade cooperation between Afghanistan and Iran.

Iran Press/Asia: During a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Kabul Bahador Aminian on Tuesday night, Mohammad Hanif Atmar stated that the opening of the Iranian Industry, Water, Sewerage, Urban services, and Communications Exhibition in Kabul is an excellent initiative to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

The Afghan Acting Foreign Minister also praised Iran's cooperation with Afghanistan in fighting against the Coronavirus.

Iranian Deputy Energy Minister Homayoun Haeri, who was accompanying the Iranian ambassador, also expressed hope that the two countries would cooperate in all areas of trade, transit, and electricity.

Joint work on wind energy production, transportation, and urban services, exchange of technical engineering and tourism skills, the opening of the Khaf-Herat railway, the importance of Chabahar port, and completion of comprehensive cooperation document between Afghanistan and Iran were among the other topics were discussed.

The first specialized and joint exhibition of Iran and Afghanistan is underway (September 22-24, 2020), in which 21 Iranian companies on urban services and 54 companies in the field of technical and engineering services participating.
